Vice President of Huawei Groups, Mark Xueman said that they will set up a regional headquarter of $55 million in Islamabad. This Huawei headquarter will definitely bring job opportunities for local young engineers. During a meeting with the Minister for Planning, Development, and Reform Khusro Bakhtyar, the Huawei Vice President said that they are going to invest $100 million in Pakistan because this is a strategic country for the company.
CPEC Project Director Hassan Daud, Secretary Planning Zafar Hasan and senior officials of the ministry were also present at the meeting.
Huawei a Chinese tech giant and leading smartphone company is all set to invest $100 million in Pakistan. In a meeting Mark Xueman announced that Huawei is going to invest $15 million in the Technical Support Centre of Pakistan and they will also hire workforce. It is expected that the number of staff will be from 600 to 800 in this year.
He also explained that the tech giant is eager to initiate many projects in Pakistan with the grant funding from the Chinese government.
Makhdum Khusro Bakhtyar appreciated this announcement from Vice President and Huawei continuous engagement with Pakistan. This company will play a vital role in supporting Pakistan for the development and upgrading the Information and Technology Sector (IT).
Moreover, Minister for Planning, Development, and Reform Khusro Bakhtyar also revealed that Huawei owns 25% market share in the mobile industry of Pakistan. Huawei, a tech giant is also a top tax paying Chinese company in Pakistan.
The Minister has also appreciated engagement of Huawei with Higher Education Commission for the projects of smart schools in latest information and communications technology equipment.
He has also emphasized on exploring the new business models for the future projects along with the joint ventures in Pakistan. Through building a Huawei regional headquarter in Pakistan, it can contribute in the e-governance initiative taken by the government. This Chinese company will also participate in the centralization of the data in order to improve the efficiency and productivity.
The minister also added that in this way Huawei will also support the Information and Technology IT sector and start-up projects in Pakistan to help the youth in this sector. He assured that the ministry will also cooperate with Huawei in the future with joint ventures.
