Former cricketer and speed gun Shoaib Akhtar starts a debate on Pakistani cricket team’s captaincy. During an interview, Rawalpindi express highlighted structural problems in Pakistani team. He emphasised on the replacement of wicket-keeper batsman Sarfraz Ahmed. He was keen on the name of Haris Sohail as the new captain of Pakistani team in ODI and T20I format. He stated that the Pakistani team performed severely and throw away crucial matches. He also suggested the name of Babar Azam as captain of the test team.

Pakistani team is under criticism due to not qualifying for semifinals. It is expected that there would be major changes in management. Most probably, a new coach and manager will be hired. And now Shoaib Akhtar has started the talks of captain replacement. He insisted that Sarfraz should remain in the team because of his wicket-keeping and batting skills. But there should be a new captain.

Haris Sohail is a left-handed batsman from Sialkot. He has played 39 ODIs with an average of 46 while scoring two centuries and 12 fifties. While in 10 test matches his average is just over 40. Haris Sohail is considered as a batsman with reliable technique and active footwork. Sometimes he balls with left-hand spin.

The initiative from the Pindi Express will spark several talks in the media. Other cricket analysts will put their opinions in play. After the world cup, all cricketers were indicating a change in the captaincy, and Shoaib Akhtar is the first person to suggest a suitable name.
