At least four persons were killed, including some of the policemen and more than 12 people were wounded, in a blast near a Mosque in the Satellite Town, an area of the Balochistan’s Capital, Quetta. This Quetta IED Attack was another massacre of terrorism, in three days after the Gwadar Incident.

The blast took place right after when reporting, a Police van arrived near the Mosque to provide security the people who were offering Taraveeh Prayers in the Mosque at that time.

This was the second major terrorist attack occurring in Balochistan, within the time frame of only three days, as on Saturday, the Gwadar PC Hotel was under attack.

Quetta DIG Razaq Cheema while talking to media reports said that, The Police Vehicle which solely was filled with security officials to provide security for the people in the Mosque, the blast occurred in which four officials of the Rapid Response Group were instantly killed, and another one’s condition was serious.

Home Minister of Balochistan, Mr. Zia Lango while talking to the media said that, according to the initial reports, the explosives were affixed to the Police Van.


The killed were security personnel’s, however injured were mostly civilians.

The Bomb Disposal Squad reached the scene, and an investigation started off in coordination with the CTD.

The Chief Minister of Punjab, Usman Buzdar condemned the attack and expressed heartfelt condolence and grieves for the families of the martyrs.

He added that People from all the walks of life have laid their lives in the unified battle against the terrorism, and only because of the sacrifices made by those individuals, finally, the country is returning back to the roots of peace and prosperity.

Special Advisor to the Prime Minister, Sardar Yar Muhammad Rind, also condemned the Quetta IED Attack and said while talking to the media that the nation is standing against this evil root of terrorism.
