PM Imran Khan has taken notice on of the Farishta Rape case. She was a 10-year old girl residing in the near-abouts of Islamabad, who was kidnapped, raped and murdered three to four days ago.
He ordered daily updates on the case proceedings. The Prime Minister has ordered action against the Police Officials, for the negligence, according to a statement issued from his office, Islamabad on Wednesday.
He was highly displeased with the fact of the performance knowing that the arrests on the case were made such late, although, Farishta’s family registered an FIR on the day she went disappearing.
PM Imran has suspended the Deputy Superintendent on the Case, and the Superintendent was made the Officer on Special Duty on the case.
Prime Minister also demanded an explanation from the IG and Operations DG.
The Director General Major General Asif Ghafoor also condemned the incident, and offered the full support from the army to bring the rapists to Justice.
In the proceedings for the Farishta rape case, three suspects have been arrested, An FIR was registered on May 19 at the Shahzad Police Station, five days after the 10-year old girl disappeared.
The SHO of the Shahzad Police Station, Ghulam Abbas, has been suspended for refusing to register a case earlier. He had been under the compliance of criminal negligence, with the other personnels working in the station, along with the Police Investigation Officer, Muhammad Nasir.
The Committee has also formed a judicial inquiry into the Farishta Rape case, as well as two investigation teams, after the family’s staged a full day protest at the Taramari Chowk on Wednesday.
Farishta went missing on the 15th of May, at 5:30pm from their house in Chak Shahzad, and his father arrived at the Police Station at 7 PM to lodge an FIR, but no one’s glanced him till 12:30 AM, and on May 20, the girl’s body was found in a forest.
