Pakistan Cricket Board PCB and Pakistani Cricket Committee mutually decided not to renew the contracts of the coaching staff including Azhar Mahmood and Mickey Arthur is disappointed. The cricket committee has also decided to start the recruitment process soon. PCB Chairman Ehsan Mani thanked the coaching staff for their contribution.

This means that the contracts of these coaching staff will not be renewed:
- Mickey Arthur, Head Coach.
- Azhar Mahmood, Bowling Coach.
- Grant Flower, Batting Coach.
- Grant Luden, Trainer.
PCB Chairman Ehsan Mani Reviews On Refusal to Renew the Contract:
For changes in the national coaching set-up, recommendations has been sent. They were also discussed by PCB Chairman. PCB Chairman, Ehsan Mani thanked Mickey Arthur, Azhar Mahmood, and other coaches for their services. Moreover, he also wished them success for their future efforts. Ehsan Mani, PCB Chairman also said that PCB has always been committed to its followers and fans. He added that PCB ensures to make decisions which will move the Pakistani cricket a step forward.
Mickey Arthur Reviews on Refusal of Contract:
However, Mickey Arthur who is from South Africa said that he put all his effort to help Pakistan chase the International Cricket Council ICC World Cup Trophy in Semi-finals. He was disappointed and hurt on this decision made by PCB. Arthur added that he did his best to lift Pakistani Cricket.
Mickey Arthur contract expired just after England won the Cricket World Cup 2019 and he asked for a two-year extension in this regard.
PCB will start the recruitment process for the four positions and interested candidates with relevant experience can apply for these roles. PCB will start accepting applications soon for head coach, batting coach, bowling coach and the trainer.
Ehsan Mani, Chairman PCB said that he is happy that Cricket Committee submitted their recommendations unanimously. He added that it is time to develop a new leadership and a fresh approach to lift Pakistani Cricket.
Mickey Arthur History with Pakistani Cricket:
Mickey Arthur joined Pakistani cricket in 2016 May and then led them to the Test Series with England. He lifted Pakistani Cricket in the top rank and as a result of the hard work of the coaching staff, Pakistan won the Champion Trophy in England in June 2017.
Arthur said that the Champion Trophy win brings the best team of young players in front of the world. He also talked about another achievement of Pakistan bagging a title of number one in the world of T20 Cricket during that time period.
Under Mickey time span, Pakistan won 29 out of 66 ODIs with 3 as no-result. Moreover, Pakistan also won 10 out of 28 Tests in these two years and drawing one.
