Pakistan Cricket Board Restructuring of Domestic System

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is planning on restructuring of the previous departmental domestic system which comprises of eight regions. A meeting was held in Lahore earlier, attended by PCB chairman and other officials. PCB has also requested a meeting with Prime Minister Imran Khan in this regard. Rumors are that Pakistan Cricket league and its task force are planning to make the eight regions sponsored by the departments. Before this, the eight regions were fielded by their departments. According to the reports, approval will soon be taken from Prime Minister by Director Domestic Cricket, Haroon Rashid. Chairman Pakistan Cricket Board, Ehsan Mani will also participate in the approval of the new domestic system in the cricket.

The reason behind this restructuring of the domestic system is that in the past the departmental cricket was being dissolved. So the cricket departments no longer field their teams. They can only sponsor each of the eight regional teams. This new plan will only be implemented if approved by Patron-in-Chief.

 A new challenge for Pakistan Cricket Board

Pakistan Cricket Board will face a new challenge after this domestic restructuring. It has been told that further information will be revealed after the approval from Prime Minister Imran Khan. Hence, the new domestic plan will be introduced and implemented after approval. It has also come into knowledge that some people are opposing this new idea of a restructuring of domestic cricket. The opposition of this new idea is due to the fear of domestic cricketers that they will lose their jobs. While Pakistan Cricket Board have assured them that they will be accommodated, well. This is considered as the biggest challenge that Pakistan Cricket Board will be facing in the near future due to the reservation of many entities on this new plan.
