Mehwish Hayat has performed on an item song named “Gangster Guriya” in a movie “Baaji” and looks like Twitter is angry for honouring this woman with “Tamgha-e-Imtiaz”. Baaji is a Pakistani movie whose cast includes Osman Khalid Butt, Amna Ilyas, Mohsin Abbas Haider and Meera G which is directed by Saqib Malik. Whereas, Mehwish Hayat is part of it as an item number diva.
Mehwish Hayat tweeted with a caption Oops I did it again!
Oops I did it again!
After 5 years another cameo that I am very proud of. R u ready for Gangster Guriya?A woman in control of herself & knows wat she wants! ”You can't play me boy..nahi hoon mai khilona”👊🏻

Moreover, she asked ‘Are you ready for Gangster Guriya?’, a woman who is in charge of herself and she knows that what she wants!!
She is confident enough to face the world as Gangster Guriya but people have many questions from a holder of Tamgha-e-Imtiaz.
If this thing deserved a Tamgha-e-Imtiaz than then i am sorry to say all this kind of tamghas..if pakistanis want to see vugarity, there are better option than

Twitter is calling it a vulgarity as being part of the citizen of an Islamic country!!
Questions have been raised that what message she wants to spread with songs like Gangster Guriya??
No doubt you are a hardworking woman and your work is appreciable but sorry to say we live in an Islamic country and what message you wanna convey through this song, by using such half naked costumes !! #MehwishHayat #CleanPakistan https://t.co/6U6S8lYQ6N

Mehwish answered to all the criticism and what we call abusive remarks on her performance on Gangster Guriya, “Dance is the purest form of art for her”.
To do these dance numbers has been my choice. As an actress and performer it is my job. As a woman I find my work empowering. Dance to me is aesthetically the purest form of art. https://t.co/KzGNoXJXhU
Incase you’ve missed it here’s the link ☝🏻

Mehwish also said that dance is her choice and she finds her work woman empowering which is her job as well.
People are mocking her for copying Bollywood the item number and this kind of dressing like her is totally unacceptable.
Chhapa of Katrina Kaif's looks, but brilliantly shot. 100/100 for camera and edit. https://t.co/ddFonqHWEu

Hashtag QaumTabahHai is trending…
— Shakeeb Arshad (@ArshadShakeeb) June 21, 2019
Well, some are supporting her for becoming a victim of abuse and we all know that this language against any woman shows his own upbringing!!
Absolutely unacceptable This is why I was so mad at The guy that used a maa bahen ki galiya a few days back Calling women prostitutes & other ghatiya terms again feeding into rape culture You dont like her dance ? Im not impressed either but Have some decency #Mehwishhayat https://t.co/apiQO7l7h4

OB is here advocating her again!!
This is the language used by a 'social media influencer' for a contemporary actress while criticizing her performance in a dance number.
He has the nerve to bring religion into the mix. Pehlay apni zabaan saaf karen phir deen ka dars dijiye. https://t.co/vUNkVeW68z

People are praying for her Hadayat…!
Shame On you Mehwish!
A Muslim Woman Should Feel Guilty on these things, You are spreading Behayyai Throughout Pakistan!
Instead of Feeling Guilt, You are appreciating Yourself!
Allah Hidayat Dyn Apko#MehwishHayat

Looks like Osman Khalid Butt has been supporting Mehwish Hayat in this whole controversy.
Yes, a song that's heavy on the male gaze (focusing not on the moves but on the woman's assets), that features derogatory lyrics and provocative dance steps that serve no purpose other than titillation… that's not art at all.
— Osman Khalid Butt (@aClockworkObi) June 20, 2019
While others are criticizing Osman Khalid too for his poses and moves in a song with Amna Ilyas.
OB and amna aliyas in a respectable pose!☻ shaking her booty will make this film famous RIP pic.twitter.com/koa2icWvVx

He got a good sense of humour though…!
#MehwishHayat on way to geting Nishan E Haider but from my point of view she deserves Tamgh E Jurat too 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

Mehwish Hayat has received appreciation from many people for openly saying that this is what she wants to do with a clarity. Pakistan also needs that kind of clarity to portray what they want.
Like @MehwishHayat, Pak needs clarity: Adopt art in its entire manifestation – from abstract painting to item numbers – or just do away with it.
As for women: accept them, deal with them, acknowledge their choices. Stop cherrypicking your version of what they should be doing. https://t.co/PQ378KPqwA

Haroon Rashid had an interview with Mehwish Hayat. In this interview, we can see her nullifying the myth that Item numbers has been adapted from the neighbouring country.
— Haroon Rashid (@iHaroonRashid) June 21, 2019
Previously Hamza Ali Abbasi clearly criticized the item numbers in Pakistani movies on his show “Pakistan Star” but Mehwish said that this is what a movie is all about and it has been part of films since long.
