Huawei is a giant in terms of a smartphone, and it is releasing multiple new smartphones every quarter. Previously Huawei introduced Krin 980 chip for the latest smartphones. This chip is sound, but it is not as good as Qualcomm’s snapdragon 855 or Samsung’s processor. But Qualcomm is not releasing a new chip any sooner, so Huawei plans to beat its rivals by the release of HiSilicon Kirin 985 and Kirin 990. These chips will be released at the end of this year.
Kirin 985 and Kirin 990 are exclusively made by using ultraviolet EUV technology.
5G technology is embedded in the Kirin 985 and 990
The two flagship Kirin chips will be featured in Huawei Mate 30 and Mate 30 Pro. It will be a faster smartphone with 5 G technology. Huawei has made the chip integrated with 5G through a 5G modem.
The company plans to sell 10 million Mate 30 phones by the end of the year. Trump has put sanctions for Huawei, so the company will try to capture the market other than the USA.
Huawei has already made business relations with Chinese language companies.
Mate 30 will be the best production of Huawei and the company is depending on its success.
If the new flagship chips got accepted in the market, then Huawei will have an advantage in the market, because Qualcomm is not releasing the next version of snapdragon 855 until the 2nd quarter of 2020.
Huawei needs a new supply chain for its sale. That’s why Chinese language companies are the best option. But it will be a costly route for Huawei.
Even if business regulations become easy for Huawei, the company needs to replace US companies with Chinese companies. The diversification of the supply chain will make Huawei rely less on US companies. And it would be the best strategy for progress.
December of 2019 will witness the arrival of the Mate 30 Pro. A phone with super fast Hisilicon Kirin chip and 5G integrated modem. The sources from Japan tell that Huawei is close to achieving the next up-gradation of Kirin chip. After the release of Kirin 985 and Kirin 990, there is also a possibility of another upgraded chip in the first quarter of 2021.
