Huawei Headquarters Will Be Setup In Islamabad: VP Huawei

Vice President of Huawei Groups, Mark Xueman, said they would set up a regional headquarters of $55 million in Islamabad. This Huawei headquarter, Or we can say Huawei HQ Islamabad, will bring job opportunities for young local engineers. During a meeting with the Minister for Planning, Development, and Reform, Khusro Bakhtyar, Huawei Vice President, said they will invest $100 million in Pakistan because this is a strategic country for the company. CPEC Project Director Hassan Daud, Secretary Planning Zafar Hasan, and senior officials of the ministry were also present at the meeting.

Huawei, a Chinese tech giant and leading smartphone company is set to invest $100 million in Pakistan. In a meeting, Mark Xueman announced that Huawei would invest $15 million in the Technical Support Centre of Pakistan and hire a workforce. The staff is expected to be from 600 to 800 this year.

He also explained that the tech giant is eager to initiate many projects in Pakistan with grant funding from the Chinese government.

Makhdum Khusro Bakhtyar appreciated this announcement from Vice President and Huawei’s continuous engagement with Pakistan. This company will play a vital role in supporting Pakistan in developing and upgrading the Information and Technology Sector (IT).

Moreover, Minister for Planning, Development, and Reform Khusro Bakhtyar also revealed that Huawei owns a 25% market share in the mobile industry of Pakistan. Huawei, a tech giant, is also a top tax-paying Chinese company in Pakistan.

The Minister has also appreciated the engagement of Huawei with the Higher Education Commission for the projects of intelligent schools with the latest information and communications technology equipment.

He has also emphasized exploring new business models for future projects and joint ventures in Pakistan. Building a Huawei HQ in Pakistan can contribute to the e-governance initiative taken by the government. This Chinese company will also participate in the centralization of the data to improve efficiency and productivity.

The Minister also added that in this way, Huawei would support the Information and Technology IT sector and start-up projects in Pakistan to help the youth in this sector. He assured that the ministry would cooperate with Huawei in the future with joint ventures.
