Radio Pakistan reported the DG ISPR statement. Chief of Army Staff COAS Qamar Javaid Bajwa to scheduled to meet Top US Military Leadership.
COAS is on an official tour to the US with Prime Minister Imran Khan. It is the first time in history that any Pakistan Army Chief accompanied the Prime Minister on the US tour.
A day before COAS Qamar Javaid Bajwa had an official meeting with the US President along with Prime Minister Imran Khan.
Apparently, it is the first time in history that both Military and civilian leadership of Pakistan had an official meeting at White House.
According to diplomatic sources, Gen Bajwa will discuss bilateral issues with former acting defence Patric Shanahan and US Military Chief Gen Mark Milley.
Significance of the meeting
The scenario from the Afgan peace talks is precise. The US is receding from Afghanistan and Pakistan holds the exit route. For a safe exit from Afghanistan, the cooperation from the Pakistani Military is vital. That’s why analysts are calling this meeting a point where exit plan become a reality.
Pakistani COAS Gen Bajwa will also discuss the defence trade with US officials. Pakistan needs the latest defence pieces of equipment. The US has the inventory and Pakistan wants to acquire that. So Gen Bajwa will do the initial talks.

DG ISPR stated that the security situation in Pakistan is far better now. The fence along the Afgan border is proving to be beneficial to stop incidents related to terrorism. The present focus of the security forces is to develop the Balochistan. The terrorist elements in Balochistan will be dealt with power. Pakistani Army will make sure that Balochistan experience peace, harmony, and development. Pakistani Army will restructure the areas affected by terrorism.
DG ISPR also stressed on media to show the positive image of the country.
