Pak Suzuki Motors Company revealed June 15 for the official announcement of the upcoming most awaited Alto 660cc, which was recently presented at the Pakistan Auto Show (PAPS) in Karachi.
According to the official page of Suzuki Pakistan, it would be launched around either on June 15 or June 16. The Facebook page started a countdown for its launch, but no such preliminary date of launch was announced.
The company has announced its Alto 660cc as a replacement of the 800cc hatchback Mehran, the company’s most selling car from the last 30 years.
At the Auto Show, there were three variants of the new Alto 660cc, Suzuki VX (Without AC), Suzuki Alto VXR (which comes with AC), and the last Suzuki Alto VXL AGS (With AC and Automatic Transmission).
Pak Suzuki Motors has not disclosed the price of the car yet, but it most likely expected that the car will range between Rs. 10.50 lacs to 11.75 lacs.
But the car is still available for advance booking with the payment of Rs. 500,000.
In the current situation of the Rupee devaluation, it will be a tough challenge for the company to price the car public affordable.
Two weeks ago, rupee stood in the market against the US dollar of Rs 141 PKR, but now it has been depreciated to 7.7%, making it 151 in the Inter-bank rates against the US Dollar.
New manufacturers like Kia Motors, Master Motors, Volkswagen, Proton, Photon, and many European manufacturers are also entering the market in the next upcoming months, which is changing the traditional market landscape.
Because of the economic shot down in Pakistan, the sales of cars and light vehicles has been highly affected, dropping to 24%.
Although, 57% of the Alto 660cc parts are being manufactured in Pakistan, the car will massively hit at a higher cost due to rupee depreciation.
